SPC brings back beans with more than just a catchy jingle!

For a limited time SPC teams up with iconic Melbourne bar Bad Frankie to put Baked Beans on the Instagram feeds of a new generation

Baked Beans have always solicited lunchtime sniggers and odorous puns, but SPC is giving its time old favourite a more hipster reputation, teaming up with Melbourne Local Spirits and Jaffle Bar, Bad Frankie, to bring foodies the SPC Classic Aussie Jaffle.

Available throughout the month of October, the SPC Classic Aussie Jaffle will encompass the true vibe of Fitzroy’s Bad Frankie with vintage Australiana flavours and an attitude to match, including intense cheese, smoky bacon, crunchy radicchio and oozy SPC Baked Beans.

General Manager Marketing and Innovation at SPC, Simone Coté says “The great Aussie Jaffle is always a favourite and it’s great to see SPC Baked Beans coming back to the menu with a modern, tasty twist. With jaffles making a resurgence, and gin the perfect accompaniment, we couldn’t be happier to launch our SPC Classic Aussie Jaffle with Bad Frankie.”

“Similar to SPC, Bad Frankie is all about Australia – only serving the finest Australian spirits, beers and wines – making it the perfect partnership for one of our most loved brands.”

Bad Frankie are famous for their wide and expansive range of savoury and sweet jaffles, the SPC Classic Aussie Jaffle will be a must-have for bar hoppers keen on a combination of Australian favourites.

“At Bad Frankie we love promoting Australian spirits and local producers, and jaffles are the perfect bar snack” comments Lewis Halls, Bar Manager at Bad Frankie.

“When SPC approached us, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to collaborate given their rich 100-year history, and their proposal to use a childhood favourite in a modern way!”

Since openings its doors in 2014, Bad Frankie has been at the centre of the emerging Australian distilling industry, winning Australian Bartender Magazine’s Small Best Bar in 2017. As the brainchild of Sebastian Costello, Bad Frankie showcases Australian spirits and complements these spirits with the iconic jaffle.
